Starbucks - Aged Sumatra LOT No 593, Sun-dried Ethiopia Harrar

I am not into coffee things so much, but I love tastes of Starbucks and its design.

In this season's "R" (Reserved) lineup, I chose "Aged Sumatra LOT No 593" and "Sun-dried Ethiopia Harrar". They are sold limitedly in black apron's store.

Both coffee taste earthy bold and dense flavor. As always printed, it feels exotic, rare, and exquisite. I love not only its taste but its neat design, simple package with fancy label. This adds me more satisfaction beyond just having coffee.

# photos in recent entries are pulled from google's cache after the HDD mayhem in last week... so they look so jaggy than original.

Package from Late Night Alumni

I found funding of my favorite group Late Night Alumni on a Facebook post of a make up artist Michelle Phan who makes make up video for Lancome (the company my cousin works for in its lab).

They are funding for the tour "Birds, Bees, Butterfries, Etc." on the site Kickstarter. I couldn't join the tour, but pledged for LNA T-shirt, signed new album and card.

The music of LNA is kind of chillout, downtempo sound, and sophisticated house track with beauty voice of Becky Jean Williams.

MacBook Pro 15 inch (MD322J/A)

After wasting my time to fix blackout bug of NVIDIA driver on MacBook Pro Mid 2010 model, I decided to purchase the latest 15inch (MD322J/A) with Core i7, AMD Radeon HD6770M 1GB GDDR5 and high resolution option (1680x1050).

Tech Spec of Mid 2010 with Core i7 is still fine, but it doesn't work fine on MacOSX 10.7 because of unsupported NVIDIA driver.

Now, totally fine with new MBP.
Quad core processor will speed up my work.

Finally fixed blackout bug of MBP with NVIDIA on Lion.

I had been annoyed with blackout freeze bug of MBP 15-inch Mid2010 on MacOSX 10.7 for about a month.

Apple finally released bug fix update (MacBook Pro Video Update).

---

But, after patched this updates, still blackouts occurred. I quit trying to fix this, and bought late 2011 model.

Morisawa Font Installer won't run install program correctly if you choose english in system preferences of MacOSX. After click "install" on install menu list, the program suddenly quits without any error.

You have to change your primary language to Japanese in "Laungage & Text" of system preferences.

Adobe released Creative Suite 5.5. I can say this version is minor bug fixed release. It's not worth to pay 56,000 yen if you are not a latest version app bug.

This version does not include any functional updates. I could at least feel boot sequence was slightly faster than previous version.

I am complayining every time about the difference of price between Japan and US Adobe store. They sell same app for $399 (about 32,000yen / Web Premium update). I choose English version (also English version has Japanese locale), so I do not have to purchase on Japan store, but US store restricted area to purchase.

Three Region Blend is a coffee blended with beans from the regions, Latin America, Africa/Arabia, and Asia/Pacific.

I do not drink medium bodied type coffee so much, but I love this so fruity and smooth taste. Rather than that, I like its package design. Recent Starbucks design is simple and neat like Classic Apple products.

Now, we are building an online book store "復興書店 Revival & Survival" (FukkoShoten.com) for supporting victims and stricken area in East Japan Quake.

This project was proposed and started by Masahiko Shimada (島田雅彦).

A lot of novelist and writers like Machi Tawara (俵万智), Koutarou Isaka (伊坂幸太郎), Kaori Ekuni (江國香織), Gen Siraiwa (白岩玄), Nobuko Takagi (高樹のぶ子), Nao-cola Yamazaki (山崎ナオコーラ), Miri Yu (柳美里), Banana Yoshimoto (よしもとばなな) participated in this project (see participant list in the site).

This store sells books offered by authors with their autograph. About 90% of sales is donated for surffering people in the stricken area.

Once again it's on. iOS 4.3.1 still can be JBed. Also enabled Personal Hotspot with Tether me from Cydia. No more MyWi.

I hope SoftBank (Japanese iPhone career) frees Personal Hotspot. If they do, I don't need any JailBreak things except unlock for my docomo SIM.

I did jail break iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2.1 ipsw by newly released PwnageTool 4.2.
It works fine.

Thanks dev-team for so much effort.

MULTITUDE2

MULTITUDE2 was released as an iPad application (actually an e-book content of the App Hnyee Stand). Also in this issue, 100 notable bicycle lovers and riders in Japan are featured.

I was impressed with Sayacafe's red COLNAGO Pista. So beautiful and clean (and rich) setup.

# this content/app has some slight loading bugs, they should release fixed version.

Levels EP - Bilal

I checked the name of an artist "Bilal" sometimes in newsletters or websites, but I didn't have interest in his releases.

Then, I tried his latest EP "Levels" because I found my favorite Flying Lotus's remix. All songs in this remix Single/EP are so atmospheric, not too digitally synthesized, and slightly organic sound, the type I like most.

Bilal is an artist with Erykah Badu-ish spritual taste + modern sound like Foreign Exchange.

Gutter Rainbows - Talib Kweli

I've not liked so much releases of Talib Kweli after his Black Star album because they are surely good, but does not fit in with my favorite genuine hiphop method.

In this alubm "Gutter Rainbows", probably by the influence of recent hiphop indies movement, Talib did a sure shot.

The song "Palookas" especially lets you nod with the rugged sound and featured MC Sean Price's rough rhymin'.
